‘Man to God, God to Man’ is a project that consists of an album and a film.
The album, ‘Man to God,’ contains seven songs about struggles with love, loss and the question of human suffering. The style is in a soft singer-songwriter tone, with soulful instrumentals and layered harmony. The lyrics are earnest, introspective and true to my personal experiences. They are written as letters to the unknown.
The film, ‘God to Man,’ uses the album’s music as its soundtrack and driving force. The plot entails one twenty-four hour period in which a young man’s life gradually falls apart and he faces a transformative near death experience. Seven sequences of the young man in modern day Brooklyn are separated with short interludes telling another story: of an elderly priest in medieval Tuscany traveling to deliver a message to a mysterious recipient. However, each sequence of the priest affects the following sequence with the young man and slowly, we find that the priest and young man are connected.
